Great Running Weather for August

August 11, 2019 By Midlife Runner

Today's Running Weather

Definitely can’t complain about the weather this morning, especially for the middle of August. For runners in the southern U.S., this might seem like winter conditions. For the bulk of my run the weather was great. It was in the low 60’s with lower humidity and dewpoint.

This was my last long run before the Falmouth Road Race. Since Falmouth is a 7-mile course I trained using a mix of 10K training plans by Hal Higdon and RunRX. Initially, I was following only the Hal Higdon 10K Intermediate plan but before starting the plan I was only running 3 days per week and my body wasn’t responding well to the jump to 5 running days per week. I’ve used Hal’s plan in the past without any problems, but I don’t think I had enough of a base before starting this time around.

Hoping for cool dry weather next week at the race.
